Post breakfast, we check out from the hotel and the abundance of greenery and trees dramatically disappears into arid landscapes as we ascend the steep mountains over Rohtang Pass. We can expect a few muddy tracks at times. Enroute view spectacular scenery of the Lahoul Valley all along the River Chandra. Upon Arrival, check in at our Hotel / Camp in Jispa for an overnight stay.
Post breakfast, we check out from the hotel and ride north on the Manali-Leh Highway. You get to see some of the most breath taking landscapes that the Western Himalayas can offer. The scenery gets more stark and barren as we climb up to the 16,500-foot high Baralacha La, the second mountain pass on our journey. From the pass beautiful views of meadows and snow-capped mountains can be seen. By early evening we reach the small hamlet of Sarchu with set on a large plateau. Upon arrival in Sarchu we check into camp. Evening at leisure & overnight stay at the camp
After breakfast today there is a drive almost 200 km journey full of beautiful landscapes on the way when you reach at tsokar 115 km far and 85 km ahead is Tsomori-ri Lake. On our way towards Tsomoriri, there are full of natural Landscapes which includes beautiful small lakes on the way and Mountains after this drive you reach to the Rupshu valley. Tsomori-ri is the Biggest Brackish water Lake which has no outlet. Overnight stay at the Camp.
Post breakfast excursion around lake and Korzok Monastery (350 years old Korzok Monastery which has about 33 resident monks) that belongs to the yellow sect. Tsomori-ri or "Mountain Lake" is situated in the middle of the elevated valley of Rupshu surrounded by 6000 M peaks which completely shut the lake in. This Valley is inhabited by a small scattered population of "Changpas" nomadic shepherds who also engage in trade and work the Caravans in Ladakh, Lahaul and Spiti the area is rich in wildlife including the "Kyang" (Wild Ass), red fox and the rare highly endangered snow Leopard. Black Necked cranes and Geese flock to the lakeside for breeding during the summer months. Later we drive for 7hours to Leh via Sumdo and Chuma - Thang (3965M). Enroute stop at Mahe Bridge from where the road crosses to the south bank of the river by a bridge; it then follows the unmetalled road through Sumdo village up to join Puga stream. The drive from Sumdo to Mahe follows a narrow mountain gorge through green bushes. Packed lunch en-route. Chuma-Thang is known for its famous medicated hot water springs where people from various parts of Ladakh come for relieving their pains. Enroute drive past beautiful villages of Nurnis, Kery and Kadgam. The Jeep drive through this part of the Indus valley is quite flat without much uphill or downhill drive, a wide-open village.
Post lunch, sightseeing tour of leh wherein we shall visit Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace. Overnight stay at Hotel/Guesthouse in Leh.
Crossing Khardugla and a further 3 hour journey will get you to the beautiful Nubra valley. There are actually sand dunes and even double humped camels (you can also ride them). If time permits we will pay a visit to Hunder and Diskit monasteries. Overnight at the camp.
After enjoying breakfast, proceed to Leh. In the evening, explore Leh bazaar for souvenirs or spend some time in one of Leh's numerous cafes. You can walk to Leh Chokhang (Monastery) or the Leh Mosque if you like. Overnight at hotel in Leh.
After breakfast leave for the place where the bollwood film '3 Idiots' was shot!! The Pangong Lake is reached by crossing the Chang La pass, and is on the Indo-Chinese border. The Lake is over 130km, and almost 60 percent is in China, overnight at camp in Pangong Lake.
On way back we shall we visit Thiksey Monastery and Shey Palace.
After breakfast a car will pick up you for hotel and take you to Indus and zanskar Rafting point and after 2 to 3 hour rafting you can have your lunch and drive back to hotel or market overnight at hotel in Leh.
We begin our journey towards the "Magnetic hill" that is located about 30 km from Leh, at a height of 14,000 feet above sea level. Here you can see the unusual phenomenon of your vehicle going upwards on its own at a speed with the engines off. We shall also visit the popular Alchi monastery; famous for its 1000 AD Indian style Buddha paintings. We also visit the Lamayuru monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in the region. The Lunar like landscapes near Lamayuru village is also called as Moon Land, ourjourney for the day ends in Mulbek near Kargil for overnight stay. The place is famous for the 9-metre high rock sculpture of Maitreya Buddha built around the 8th century.
Our journey today takes us through Kargil and Drass. The Drass war memorial, built in the memory of soldiers martyred in the 1999 Kargil war and is a must visit for every traveller passing through this route. As we cross the famous Zoji La pass, the landscape changes from dry mountains to green mountains to reach the beautiful meadows of Sonamarg. We end our journey in Srinagar where you would be checked into Deluxe Houseboats in Nageen Lake.
After breakfast, Sightseeing tour of Srinagar city, wherein we shall visit the famous Mughal gardens of Cheshmashahi (The Royal Spring), Nishat Bagh(The Garden of Pleasure) and Shalimar (The Abode of Love). We shall also visit the renowned Shankracharya temple. Overnight stay in Srinagar.
After breakfast, we shall visit Gulmarg, also known as the 'Meadow of Flowers'. Gulmarg has one of the best Ski slopes in the world and highest golf course of the world with 18 holes. The view enroute from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating and Nanga Parbhat Peak can also be seen on a clear day. Picnic Lunch for the day. We can also experience Cable chair rides that offer spectacular views of the place. Drive back to Srinagar for overnight stay.
Early morning drive to airport for onward journey to Delhi with memories of a lifetime!
